The Price family have owned and farmed at Gelliargwellt Farm since 1902.
With the downward trends in farming in the eighties the company began to diversify into quarrying and landfill. A disused quarry was re-opened for the extraction of Blue Pennant Sandstone.
The first major contract was the construction of the A469 – Llanbradach by-pass. Waste from the site was brought in and the lorries took stone back to the site.
In 1996 Bryn Quarry Limited was established as a separate company. In keeping with emerging trends the recycling side of the business was developed. Recycling hardcore, soils and builders rubble.
We supply a wide range of products including Dust, Scalpings, Chippings, Graded stone, Block Stone, Walling stone and Rockery stone.
We can arrange for the stone to be delivered by one of our reliable haulage contractors, or you can collect the stone from us by prior arrangement.
We can provide you with chippings for the black top market including the much sought after Blue Pennant which is very hard wearing and ideally suited for construction and re-surfacing. Our block stone and chippings was used in the A465 Neath bypass, also new M6 bypass toll road. |
