The Bryn Group is a privately owned business based at Gelliargwellt Farm, Gelligaer. Based on a large dairy farm, and set up as a farm diversification business in 1996 primarily as an inert landfill, Bryn Quarry Ltd can now boast a recycling business totalling around 60,000 tonnes per annum. Services offered include green waste and food waste composting, wood waste recycling, aggregate and soil recycling and waste transfer station for general skip wastes.
The Bryn Group recognises that concern for the environment should be an integral and fundamental part of its operations. As a result it is our aim to achieve environmental excellence through the implementation of an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard™ whilst also supporting government policy for sustainable development.
In particular we will: • Integrate environmental management into all organisational activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national and international legislation and regulations.
• Ensure all staff, including contractors, actively supports our environmental programmes.
• Communicate our environmental policy to all interested internal and external parties.
We will seek to reduce our environmental impacts and improve sustainability through:
• A commitment t o achieving continual improvement in our environmental performance and preventing pollution.
• Endeavouring to maximise recycling opportunities and the reduction of unnecessary disposal of raw materials and other waste products.
• The provision of appropriate resources and the necessary training for staff, to ensure that they are able to fulfil the commitment given in this policy.
This policy will be reviewed at least annually and will form the basis of all future environmental improvements.
